      • How buggies shape babies’ brains
In 2008, I read a small piece of research that caused an international storm. It tried to make a simple point: that the design of strollers shapes our children’s emotional and brain development. The study was, at the time, the only piece of empirical research that I could find that had even tried to explore that possibility.
      • What's the difference between these two brains?
They both belong to three-year-olds, so whiy is one so much bigger? Because one was loved by its parents and the other neglected - a fact that has dramatic implications.

More than two thousand paediatricians, neonatologists, nurses and parents from Europe and the entire world came together in Budapest for the first congress of joint European Neonatal Societies (jENS) to discuss all aspects of newborn health. It is our duty to help where we can. Therefore, parts of the jENS Congress’ revenues will be donated to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In addition, participants donated money during the congress week.

A little over 30 years into its life journey, modern scientific psychiatry seems to be heading into a dark wood.
